Catalytic Activity:
RX + glutathione = HX + R-S-glutathione.
Enzyme Regulation:
ENZYME REGULATION: Can be activated by reagents that attack Cys-50 sulfhydryl, such as N-ethylmaleimide. Activation also occurs via nitration of Tyr-93 by peroxynitrite (By similarity).
